For a commissioned series of photographs for JetBrains, I produced a set of images tailored to their corporate website and brand needs. The brief called for clear, documentary-style visuals that support JetBrains’ corporate identity while highlighting people, product-focused and corporate unity scenes appropriate for a global software company.

Scope and objectives

  • Deliver a cohesive photo series suitable for website headers, team pages and marketing banners.

  • Create images that work both as large-format hero photos and as smaller cropped assets for responsive layouts.

  • Maintain a colorful, contemporary aesthetic that aligns with JetBrains’ brand palette and UI presentation.

What I shot

  • Environmental portraits of employees and teams in authentic situations to convey collaboration, culture, and professionalism.

  • Detail shots: desks, meeting rooms, communal areas, and branded elements that communicate the company’s work environment.

  • Product-in-use imagery: developers at work, code on screens, and devices in natural workflows to emphasize the company’s software focus.

  • Hero and lifestyle images with negative space for headline and navigation overlays.

Approach and execution

  • Pre-shoot planning: I coordinated with JetBrains’ communications and marketing teams to define shot lists, usage scenarios, and required orientations (landscape, square, vertical) so images would fit site templates and responsive needs.

  • On-location workflow: I prioritized minimal disruption to the workplace, using portable lighting and compact grip equipment. Sessions were scheduled to capture natural activity and candid interaction as well as short posed setups.

  • Consistent visual language: I controlled color temperature, contrast, and depth of field to produce a uniform look across the series. Attention to composition and negative space ensured assets could be cropped for various web components without losing meaning.

  • Post-production: I performed selective retouching and color grading to match JetBrains’ visual identity, delivered multiple aspect ratios and web-optimized files, and supplied high-resolution masters for future print or large-format use.

Deliverables

  • A curated gallery of final images in multiple aspect ratios and resolutions intended for web use.

  • High-resolution master files for archive and future needs.

  • Licenses and usage notes aligned with JetBrains’ corporate site requirements.

Outcome: The commissioned series provided JetBrains with a flexible library of branded photography that contributed to their corporate site visuals, reinforced their professional image, and supplied ready-to-use assets for ongoing marketing and publishing needs. The images supported both storytelling and functional design across their corporate website.
